Dr. Márton Pogány is a strategic analyst at the Institute for Energy Strategy, a think tank and research hub operating as a background institution of Hungary’s Ministry of Energy. He obtained his law degree from the University of Miskolc in 2014. Throughout his professional career, he has worked extensively on energy policy, as well as on digitalization, data security, and domestic and foreign trade. In recognition of his work, he received an award from the Ministry for National Economy in 2017. He has represented Hungary on multiple occasions before international organizations, including the European Union and the United Nations, both in Brussels and New York. He has been active at the Institute for Energy Strategy since its establishment in 2023. During his tenure there, he has published several professional articles in domestic and international media on the underlying causes of negative electricity prices in Europe and on the impact of 15-minute electricity market trading on the utilization of renewable energy resources.
